About

About Viva

In many languages, people shout "Viva!" when bravo isn’t enough. It’s more than applause – it’s a wish: may this live. May this music, this story, this shared moment live a little longer.

Viva e.V. is a non-profit cultural association in Freiburg, born from exactly those moments. We create intense experiences where classical music, experimental crossover, literature, and new cultural formats meet. Small spaces. Real connection. Artists and audiences, face to face.

Evenings of music, stories, and connection.

Viva began as informal evenings in Freiburg living rooms. Someone brought a violin, someone played the piano, someone read a story, children sat on the floor – and afterwards nobody wanted to go home. We founded Viva e.V. to give these evenings, these voices, and this togetherness a place to live and grow.

Mission

We create immersive cultural events that bring together exceptional artists and diverse audiences. Through concerts, literary evenings, and experimental formats, we build a space where music, stories, and people truly meet – regardless of background or language.

Vision

A city where culture isn’t confined to concert halls, but lives in living rooms, gardens, and everyday spaces. Where strangers become audiences, audiences become communities, and the "Viva!" at the end of an evening echoes into how we live together.
